Talib Kweli is an artist who appreciates the fans that he has gained and he's interested to see what people will think of his new album, which is a departure from the hip hop samples that he put out earlier in his career that were much more soulful and part of a standard musical formula of which he was one of the first innovators. He doesn't want people to think that his new album is simply a standard hip hop album because he spent a lot of time trying to be an innovator and create a new sound.
